Adamson University has a variety of pieces that can explode at any given moment.
And it’s all thanks to the masterful distribution of setter Louie Romero.
The Lady Falcons captain has been distributing the ball well, activating usual suspects Trisha Genesis and Lucille Almonte in a regular.
But when the situation calls for a different route, Romero can always turn to other Adamsonians waiting in the wings.
And in their game against University of the East on Thursday morning, she fed Lorene Toring and May Ann Nuique.
“Very hardworking si Louie. Superb yung dedication at commitment niya sa volleyball, sa pagse-set,” said Lady Falcons head coach Lerma Giron about the 2019 PVL Collegiate Conference Finals MVP.
Nuique and Toring, limited to three points and a point in their five-setter defeat to UST last Tuesday, were all fire against the Lady Warriors with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
And the masterful orchestration of Romero, combined with her calming presence on the bench was a big plus for Giron.
“Grabe yung commitment niya sa team. Sabi ko kay Louie, kung may bibigay, ikaw yung pinakahuling bibigay,” said Giron.
The answer of Romero was nothing short of spectacular, leading dark horse Adamson to a 4-3 win-loss card to end the first round at fourth.
“Ayun pinaninindigan niya every game kaya nakakatuwa si Louie.”
