Leo Ordiales stood tallest among a field of heroes, emerging as the UAAP Season 88 Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Finals Most Valuable Player.
The 6-foot-5 opposite spiker powered National University to its sixth straight championship after sweeping Far Eastern University in the Finals.
Ordiales set the tone in Game 1, finishing as NU’s top scorer with 22 points on 20-of-42 attacks and two blocks in a hard-fought 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 15-8 five-set victory last Wednesday.
He then made sure the Bulldogs would not need a third game, turning in an even more dominant performance in Game 2 to seal the crown.
In the title-clinching match, Ordiales was relentless, firing 24 points on a highly efficient 23-of-36 spiking clip, along with one block, to lead NU to a commanding 26-24, 25-22, 25-22 sweep.
