Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes will now have the luxury of choice a week before the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
Jerom Lastimosa has been called back by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas to join the practices while Justin Brownlee and Marcio Lassiter finally arrived on Thursday during the team’s practice at Meralco Gym.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, it was only on Wednesday that the prolific Adamson University guard was called to rejoin the pool.
There is a possibility that Scottie Thompson will not be able to join the national team for the regional meet due to his wife Jinky expecting to give birth any day now.
Also out are Jamie Malonzo and Mikey Williams.
Joining the trio on Thursday are the same 12 players that have been training with Gilas.
Meralco’s Aaron Black and Chris Newsome; Ateneo’s Mason Amos; La Salle’s Ben and Mike Phillips; Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger; NLEX’s Brandon Rosser and Sean Anthony; Northport’s Arvin Tolentino; and San Miguel’s Chris Ross and CJ Perez completed the practice.
Gilas will be slotted in Group A along with Malaysia (May 9), Cambodia (May 11), and Singapore (May 13).
