Talks have been circulating in social media that LA Tenorio and Sol Mercado will have new teams at the start of 2015 as their respective squads are cooking up separate trades for the two firebrand guards.
But it seems neither one is bothered by such talks whether it’s true or not.
“As far as I know, Ginebra pa rin ako. I don’t know saan galing ang balita na yan kasi wala namang sinasabi sa akin ang management,” Tenorio told Tiebreaker Times.
Several fans of Barangay Ginebra have been asking for Tenorio to be traded. There were some who even posted that the cerebral guard is rumored to be traded for GlobalPort’s top overall rookie pick Stanley Pringle.
But if there’s one sure thing expected to happen, it’s Mercado being traded to another team, most likely Barako Bull. A source privy to the discussion said that Mercado will be exchanged for veteran guard Denok Miranda.
“That’s the plan,” said the source, who requested anonymity.
Mercado said that he doesn’t know what’s going to happen, but he heard the moment he was traded to GlobalPort that it was just a stopover.
The previous trade talks supposedly involved Mercado, Miranda and Alex Cabagnot, but it was only the straight deal — Cabagnot to Mercado — which was approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office.
