La Salle to represent PH in WUBS

The UAAP champions are heading to Japan as part of their preparation for the Season 87 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

De La Salle University will represent the Philippines in the World University Basketball Series 2024.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 10 to 12 in Tokyo, Japan.

In the first two editions of the tournament, Ateneo de Manila University represented the country, showcasing the top collegiate teams in the continent.

Last year, the Blue Eagles finished fourth.

The Green Archers emerged victorious in an epic three-game Finals series against the UP Fighting Maroons last season.

In preparation for their title defense, La Salle has been participating in the Pinoyliga, the PBA D-League, and will also compete in the Filoil Ecooil Preseason Cup.

Kevin Quiambao, alongside Mike Phillips, will lead the Green Archers, supported by players such as Jonnel Policarpio, Joshua David, CJ Austria, Henry Agunanne, Raven Cortez, among others.

Also confirming their participation are Taiwan’s National Chengchi University, Japan’s Hakuoh University, Korea’s Korea University, and Indonesia’s Perbanus Institute.
