Jonnel Policarpio has been given a second chance at De La Salle University. After a week-long discussion with his coaches, family, and team officials, the incoming sophomore is returning to study at La Salle and play for the Green Archers.
The 6-foot-4 forward is grateful for the second chance provided by the school’s leadership, expressing that he won’t waste it.
During the last season, Policarpio averaged 6.69 points, 4.63 rebounds, and 2.19 assists per game. However, earlier this week, he and the school parted ways, citing personal problems.
Robinson, who is currently with the Green Archers for a pocket tournament in Zamboanga, shared that they will stand by Policarpio during these challenging times.
“Family is always family, and Poli is family. We won’t leave a son of ours behind, and whatever he is going through, we will always be with him through thick or thin. Our bond goes beyond the court, and we stand united in support, understanding that true strength lies in standing together, no matter the challenges,” said the incoming second-year head coach.
“Together, as one family, we navigate life’s journey with unwavering love.”
