Seeing this as the break he has been waiting for, Kim Cinco had 29 points and converted eight of his 14 three-points as Imus Bandila beat the Dasmariñas Ballers, 81-79, on Sunday in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2 at the Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas gym.
“Nagpapasalamat lang talaga ko sa teammates ko. Grabe yung tiwala nila sa akin. Sila yung dahilan kaya ako nao-open,” expressed Cinco, a former Lyceum Pirate.
Cinco scored three consecutive three-pointers late in the fourth period. The sniper out of Imus led the Bandila to a win in their first game in the league, shown live on Basketball TV in the Philippines and on GMA Pinoy TV abroad.
“‘Pag ganitong klase ng laro, homecourt ng kalaban mo, masarap talaga maglaro. Sabi ko lang sa teammates ko na babalik yung mga yan. Kami, kailangan lang namin mag-stick together para malagpasan yun,” Cinco added.
In other games, CamSur, Iriga, and Zamboanga also scored their first victories of the season over the weekend.
AJ Margallo had 12 points and 11 rebounds as the CamSur Express defeated the Pasig Rios-Gameville, 76-64,. Meanwhile, Mark Raton had 18 points and eight rebounds in the Iriga Oragons’ 86-85 win over the Quezon City Rising Stars.
Louie Pasamante had 27 points as the Zamboanga Valientes MLV defeated the One Cainta Titan, 83-58, to improve its record to 1-1.
