Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez finally redeemed himself as Execration snapped its five-game losing streak via a 2-1 victory over Cignal Ultra to strengthen its playoff bid in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven regular season, Saturday night.
With the victory, Execration (4-7) has tied Nexplay Esports (5-6) for the third spot in Group B with 15 points apiece.
With the series-clinching Game Three ending, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (Jawhead) forced the ultimates of Arvie “Aquaboy” Calderon (Zhask) and Benson “Bensanity” Paglinawan (Mathilda) in a skirmish near the middle lane which paved the way for Execration to secure the lord without contest.
The siege from Execration wiped Cignal Ultra’s turrets entering the 14-minute mark.
An Execration lord take saw Bryan “Janus” Badandon’s Bruno steal the Luminous Lord for Cignal Ultra.
But Execration managed to take down three of Cignal Ultra’s members, ultimately sealing the 2-1 victory.
Kielvj was named the SMART MVP with a perfect 4-0-7 stat line in the 14-5 Game Three win.
“Wala po talaga saming problema, kumbaga kung iniisip niyo nagaasaran lang kami as a player pero sa samahan namin solid po kami, wala po talagang sinisisi. Walang nagsisisihan,” said Kielvj in the post-match interview.
Jones “RHEA” De Leon’s presence with his Barats proved to be the difference maker in Cignal’s 18-13 Game One victory over Execration.
RHEA negated the dive composition of Execration through his Detona’s Welcome while Bryan “Janus” Badando’s Hayabusa served as the one-man clean up crew for Cignal.
Janus was named the SMART MVP in Game One with seven kills and eight assists against just one death.
With their backs against the wall, Duane “Kelraaa” Pillas’ Harith carried the fight for Execration in Game Two to put the series at a 1-1 deadlock.
The MPL-Philippines rookie ended Game Two with six kills and six assists against a death in the 16-8 victory en route to the SMART MVP award.
Meanwhile, Cignal Ultra dropped its 12th outing in as many games — remaining at the fifth spot in Group A with five points.
Execration looks to strengthen its playoff bid on Friday against Group B rival Laus Playbook Esports at 6:00 pm while Cignal Ultra looks to enter the win column against Bren Esports on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
