Kiefer Ravena will once again wear jersey no. 15 for NLEX in the next PBA season.
The 27-year-old has switched back to the number he’s identified with the most after donning no. 24 last season in honor of the late Kobe Bryant.
He wore no. 15 from his time in Ateneo, where he won two UAAP gold medals alongside a pair of Most Valuable Player plums.
“I just want to go back to where it all started,” the second-generation cager said.
“Something you feel comfortable having.”
The incoming four-year pro actually had a solid run while wearing no. 24 in the Philippine Cup bubble last year.
He posted career-highs of 19.4 points on 47.3-percent shooting from the field, alongside 5.5 rebounds. He also had 4.6 assists and a steal per outing.
However, the Road Warriors failed to reach the quarterfinals following a shaky start into the tilt. They eventually ended their campaign with a 5-6 card.
So now, Ravena and Co. are keen on bouncing back next season, especially with a squad brimming with promise following key additions.
The MVP Group-owned franchise acquired Calvin Oftana and David Murrell via the draft. It also got Don Trollano, who’s coming off a career season.
And those additions have made Coach Yeng Guiao optimistic of NLEX’s chances for next season despite an even stronger field.
