Kiefer in, Dwight, Bolick out for Gilas SEAG team

After being left off the initial 16-man pool of Gilas Pilipinas for the Southeast Asian Games, Kiefer Ravena has been enlisted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas as a replacement player.

The Philippine Olympic Committee’s list for Team Pilipinas showed that Ravena is part of the 5-on-5 basketball team that will compete in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 12-23.

With this development, the 28-year-old guard of the Shiga Lakestars will get a chance to win his sixth SEA Games gold.

Also composing the backcourt of Gilas are Kib Montalbo, Roger Pogoy, Matthew Wright, Lebron Lopez, Kevin Alas, and Thirdy Ravena.

Completing the squad are Isaac Go, Mo Tautuaa, June Mar Fajardo, and Troy Rosario.

Cut from the team are Dwight Ramos, Caelum Harris, Robert Bolick, Poy Erram, and Japeth Aguilar.

According to Coach Chot Reyes, Ramos still has obligations with Toyama during the biennial meet, Aguilar is still recovering from his calf strain, while Bolick begged off as his dad is sick in the US.
