KG Canaleta’s next journey will take him to Taiwan.
Taichung Wagor has announced that it has signed Canaleta for the rest of the 2021-22 T1 League season.
Canaleta last played in the Philippine Basketball Association with Blackwater.
The Bossing opted not to re-sign the 40-year-old forward after his contract expired last December.
Canaleta played 11 games in the Philippine Cup, norming 5.3 points and 2.6 rebounds.
The native of Tarlac joins Jordan Heading in Taichung.
“Although we already have excellent Asian Import in Jordan Heading, Niño KG Canaleta will also play an important role,” said Suns GM David Wang. “We will be depending on the combinations and different rotations as the games go by.
“Niño KG Canaleta will easily adjust because of our flexible schedule and will be ready for the playoffs.”
Taichung currently owns an 11-8 record, good for third place in the league.
Taichung also added Iranian Aaron Geramipoor to beef up its team.
The deadline for signings is on Sunday at 12:00 MN.
