Kevin Quiambao, JD Cagulangan set to make KBL debuts after long wait

After a two-week wait, Kevin Quiambao and JD Cagulangan are finally heading to South Korea.

Quiambao boarded a red-eye flight from Manila to Incheon on Wednesday evening, with an expected arrival in Korea early Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Cagulangan, the 24-year-old floor general from Butuan City, will depart Manila on Thursday at 12:30 PM, arriving in Korea at 4:45 PM.

Quiambao obtained his Korean visa on Tuesday, while Cagulangan received his the day before.

Both players will be able to join their teams – Goyang Sono and Suwon KT – immediately, with their Korean Basketball League debuts scheduled for this weekend.

The Sonicboom, featuring Cagulangan, will face Justin Gutang and the Seoul Samsung Thunder on Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Meanwhile, the Skygunners, with Quiambao, will play Calvin Epistola and the Busan KCC Egis at 3:00 PM.

Goyang Sono will also take on Juan Gomez de Liano and the Seoul SK Knights on Sunday, and Suwon KT will face Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers on Monday.

Currently, the Sonicboom are tied for third with the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus at 15-11, while the Skygunners are in eighth place with a 9-17 record.
