Kai Sotto’s good pal Princepal Singh signs with NBL’s New Zealand

Another Asian tower has joined Kai Sotto in the National Basketball League-Australia.

Sotto’s former G League Ignite teammate Princepal Singh has signed a deal with New Zealand to be a development player for the team.

Development players are prospects under 25 that have never signed with an NBL team. The minimum wage for DPs is set at $17,000.

Each NBL team is required to have one development player.

Singh, 20, averaged 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds during the 2021-22 G League season. The 6-foot-9 Indian also played for Sacramento’s Summer League team.

Sotto and Singh will face each other on January 2, February 10, and April 17.

“I always tell him that they better get ready because I’m really looking forward to playing against them in the future in the men’s national team,” said Sotto about Singh.

“Especially Prince.”
