Kai Sotto spends weekend with Filipino community in Adelaide

Kai Sotto got to know the Filipinos living in Adelaide over the weekend.

In a get-together organized by the Filipino Communities Council of Australia, the 19-year-old Filipino joined his compatriots in a fun-filled day.

Meanwhile, Sotto felt humbled by the warm welcome he received.

“Kai was really happy to be welcomed by our kababayans there,” said Ervin Sotto, dad of Kai.

“Alam mo naman yung mga Pinoy, nasa dugo natin ang pag-welcome sa mga bisita.”

Sotto arrived in Adelaide late last month, with local media covering the event.

“It’s had a massive impact on us,” Homegrown Basketball Australia’s Karlo Basa said during the launch of National Basketball Training Center’s Global Games.

“That just shows you the magnitude of his pull and the gravitas that he has for not just the Filipino community, but also for basketball at wide.”
