Kai Sotto, Jalen Green, and the rest of the G League select team were given a red carpet welcome at their training facility in Walnut Creek, California, last Tuesday (Manila time).
Joining Sotto and Green were Jonathan Kuminga, Isaiah Todd, Daishen Nix, and Princepal Singh.
For the next few months, the team will train under head coach Brian Shaw and his staff, which includes the likes of assistant coach Rasheed Abdul-Rahman, video coordinator Jerry Woods, and athletic trainer Pete Youngman.
And the teenage sensations quickly posted photos on their social media accounts, showing the state-of-the-art facility.
“Beginning of a new chapter that’s about to be legendary,” said Sotto, who will still keep his high school number of 11.
“Lighting straight,” quipped Green, who will wear number 0, as he posted a photo of his first interview inside the facility.
The professional pathway team is a one-year program focused on NBA Draft readiness and professional life skills, and will be unaffiliated with any existing G League franchise or NBA team.
