Kacey Dela Rosa clinches back-to-back UAAP Women’s Basketball MVP titles


Ateneo de Manila University standout Kacey Dela Rosa continues to dominate the UAAP Collegiate Women’s Basketball landscape, clinching her second consecutive Most Valuable Player title for Season 87.

Dela Rosa led the league with averages of 22.1 points, 16 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.7 blocks per game, amassing an impressive 96.286 Statistical Points (SPs).

Joining Dela Rosa in this season’s Mythical Five are University of Santo Tomas’ Kent Pastrana, who averaged 15.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, earning 79.857 SPs; University of the Philippines’s Louna Ozar, who posted averages of 12 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, with 67.571 SPs; Ateneo’s Sarah Makanjuola, who contributed 12.2 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, for 65.786 SPs; and National University’s Angel Surada, who registered 8.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game, finishing with 62.0 SPs.

Ateneo’s Junize Calago, despite ranking fourth in SPs with 67.0, was disqualified from Mythical Five contention after receiving her second unsportsmanlike foul during Ateneo’s matchup against FEU on November 9.

NU’s Cielo Pagdulagan emerged as the runaway winner for the Rookie of the Year award.

The first-year Lady Bulldog impressed with averages of 9.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, tallying 56.571 SPs.
