June Mar Fajardo is facing possibly the biggest challenge of his career after suffering a fractured tibia in his right leg during one of San Miguel’s practices earlier this week.
But even with a injury that left the whole league in utter disbelief the moment the unfortunate news rolled out, the gentle giant from Pinamungajan, Cebu remains positive.
Via social media platform Instagram, Fajardo on Friday night expressed that he’s determined to bounce back.
“I already know what giving up feels like but I want to see what happens if I don’t!” the 30-year-old slotman wrote in a post that goes along with a photo of his heavily bandaged leg.
“It’s just a minor setback! God has a better plan. I’ll be right back.”
Fajardo will be out for the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup — where the Beermen are seeking to extend their dynasty to six — and possibly the entire season, depending on his recovery.
Fajardo, who’s favored to win his sixth MVP award after leading SMB to two championships last season, ended his post by expressing gratitude to all who have given support his way.
“I have so many people to thank but I can’t name you all. I’ll include you in my prayers! I appreciate all your support, love, and prayers.”
