June Mar Fajardo nails record 6th straight Philippine Cup BPC honors

It may already sound repetitive, but June Mar Fajardo has made history yet again.

The San Miguel Beermen main man bagged the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference award, Wednesday evening at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-foot-11 big man has now won the All-Filipino BPC honors for an unprecedented six consecutive times. The 6-foot-10 center has now collected a total of eight BPC awards, the most in the PBA.

Fajardo picked up the hardware via runaway fashion en route to the plum. He bested NorthPort Batang Pier’s versatile forward Sean Anthony and TNT KaTropa’s main gunner Roger Pogoy for the distinction.

The seven-year pro received a total of 1,165 votes from the media, the players, and the Office of the Commissioner. His final vote tally was miles ahead of Anthony’s, who had 641.

The Cebuano star averaged 20.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.7 rebounds through the semifinals.
