June Mar Fajardo out for 2 months

Gilas Pilipinas and the San Miguel Beermen suffered a huge blow to their respective campaigns.

Big man June Mar Fajardo will be sidelined for the next two months after suffering a stress fracture on his right shin.

The development was first reported by Randolph Leongson of SPIN.ph.

The four-time Most Valuable Player will miss the first two months of the San Miguel Beermen’s campaign in the Governors’ Cup. Moreover, the 6-foot-10 slotman will not make it to Gilas’ road game against Iran on September 13 and home game against Qatar four days later.

Fajardo, who is averaging 12.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, is one of the three players who kept his cool during the bench-clearing brawl between the Philippines and Australia last July 2 at the Philippine Arena.
