Jude Garcia crowned first Spikers’ Turf season MVP by PVL Press Corps

Standing out in a field full of stars is no easy feat.

But Criss Cross outside hitter Jude Garcia’s brilliance and consistency throughout the past two conferences shone the brightest, earning him the distinction of being named the inaugural Spikers’ Turf Most Valuable Player of the Season.

The three-time conference MVP, alongside other standout performers from the country’s premier men’s volleyball club league, will be honored at the historic first-ever Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night on May 28 at Novotel.

Garcia played a pivotal role in the King Crunchers’ campaign, leading his squad to three consecutive silver-medal finishes.

The 26-year-old winger’s efforts did not go unnoticed, as he will be given much-deserved recognition during the formal awards ceremony presented by Arena Plus.

The PVL Press Corps will commend individual excellence across both men’s and women’s divisions.

A national team standout in beach volleyball, Garcia ranked second in total points with 200 during the Open Conference, tallying 161 attacks, 32 blocks, and seven aces during Criss Cross’ impressive 13-game winning streak en route to the finals.

Unfortunately, the King Crunchers fell short in a thrilling best-of-three series against powerhouse Cignal.

An alumnus of Far Eastern University, Garcia finished the conference with a 46.40% success rate in spiking (second overall), topped the league in blocks (0.70 per set), ranked ninth in service (0.15 per set), 10th in digs (1.11 per set), and fourth in reception with a 48.91% efficiency.

The 5-foot-11 outside spiker will also banner the 2024–25 Mythical Team, clinching one of the two Best Outside Hitter awards following a remarkable Invitational Conference campaign where he posted a season-high 150 points — 132 from spikes, 14 from blocks, and four aces.
