Jovy Prado suffered a torn ACL injury on July 11, as announced by PLDT on Tuesday evening in a statement.
Prado, an outside spiker for the High Speed Hitters, injured her left knee during the team’s straight-set defeat to Creamline on July 11.
In the second set, Prado was stretchered off the court after a bad landing.
“After an MRI scan and a check-up with a doctor, it was confirmed to Jovy Prado and the PLDT High Speed Hitters team and management that she suffered an ACL tear,” read the statement.
PLDT is set to face Chery Tiggo tonight for the last semifinals seat in Pool A.
The High Speed Hitters will now rely on Royse Tubino, Fiola Ceballos, and Jules Samonte in the open hitter position.
Ceballos stepped up in PLDT’s match against Gerflor last Saturday with 13 points.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent their well wishes! We hope you continue to pray for her as she goes through the path to recovery on her way back to the PVL court,” the statement continued.
“And to our girl, Jovy Prado, the next games of the team are for you!”
Prado will be out for the rest of the season.
