Assessment:
If there’s one thing Jose Rizal is good at, it’s dragging you to their level of offense. And mind you, it’s more than terrible. It’s turrrrrrrrrrrrible.
You lose the only two guys to ever have the ability to manufacture points in Philipp Paniamogan (18.8ppg, 30-something% 3FG) and Michael Mabulac (11.3ppg, 8.9rpg) and you’re stuck with an import who looks like Ben Wallace can score four more points (7.7ppg, 11.4rpg for Abdul Wahab).
The missing piece?
JRU has no post scoring to speak off. Like, NOTHING. Jaycee Asuncion (9.8ppg) and Bernabe Teodoro (8.3ppg) and point guard Paolo Pontejos who is coming back from a leave of absence all do their thing from the perimeter. Can any of them post anyone up? No, I don’t think so.
