Jorelle Singh expresses gratitude to Capital1 for second chance

After nearly three years, Jorelle Singh will finally have the opportunity to showcase her skills anew in the Premier Volleyball League.

Singh, a product of National University, last played in the country’s premier women’s volleyball league during the 2021 PVL Open Conference in the Bacarra, Ilocos Norte bubble.

She was eventually left unsigned before joining Biñan in the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association.

“Sobrang na-miss ko po. Sobrang thankful po ako na nabigyan ulit ako ng chance na makapaglaro ulit sa PVL, kasi hindi po lahat nabibigyan ng chance makapaglaro dito, what more pa po na nabigyan ng second chance na maglaro,” said Singh during the PVL Media Day.

The 5-foot-7 outside spiker mentioned that her former coach, Roger Gorayeb, who had coached her in NU and PLDT, called and asked her to try out for the newly-formed Solar Spikers after seeing her play in the MPVA.

Gorayeb earlier stated that he recruited Singh to be part of Capital1 because of her experience and familiarity with the system.

“Actually, opo. Si Coach Roger po. Nakita niya po kasi ako na naglalaro ako ulit sa MPVA, kumbaga nakita niya po na pwede pa po ulit akong maglaro so tinawagan niya po ako na mag-tryout po ako sa Capital 1 nga po,” revealed Singh.

The 28-year-old Singh stated that she will make the most out of her second chance in the PVL and repay the Solar Spikers’ trust by giving her best whenever her number is called.

“Siguro po ang maaasahan niyo sakin is leadership ko po sa team, iga-guide ko po lalo na yung mga bata saka ibibigay ko yung best ko. Kapag pinasok ako, gagawin ko lang kung ano yung best ko.”
