After years of waiting, Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson may finally don the country’s colors.
None other than Philippine Olympic Committee president Ricky Vargas confirmed that Clarkson is part of the 18-man pool submitted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
“That’s true, we’re interested in inviting Jordan,” the amiable executive disclosed.
Back in 2015, Clarkson joined Gilas in the Jones Cup but as a spectator.
The now-26 year old combo guard has claimed that he had a Philippine passport before he was 16.
After four seasons in Los Angeles, Clarkson was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers last February 8.
He averaged 12.6 points per game in 28 games.
