Jia Morado says ‘yes’ to Miguel de Guzman

One of Philippine volleyball’s most celebrated fairy tale stories just got its happy ending.

At exactly 11:11 in the morning of October 1, Jia Morado got engaged to long-time boyfriend, businessman Miguel de Guzman.

“On October 1, at exactly 11:11am, my wish came true,” read the decorated setter’s Instagram post — adding another ring to her collection.

The story of Morado and De Guzman is a story of destiny.

Morado and De Guzman, both 25 years old, were born on May 10, 1995, in the same hospital.

But the two were only able to meet at Ateneo de Manila University. Both Morado, Colegio de San Agustin product, and De Guzman, a former baseball player in De La Salle-Zobel, went there for college.

Both graduated Ateneo in 2017.

De Guzman has always made it a point to watch Morado’s games, may it be in the PVL or in the international circuit.
