2022 AVC Cup for Women

Jia De Guzman suits up for PWNVT vs China clash

Jia De Guzman is officially back with the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team.

The six-time Premier Volleyball League Best Setter is suiting up for the Philippines versus China clash in the 2022 PNVF AVC Cup for Women on Tuesday evening at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

De Guzman and PWNVT head coach Sherwin Meneses were put under health and safety protocols last week.

The 5-foot-7 product of Ateneo last played for the national team back in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

The decorated playmaker missed the Philippines’ straight-set, 25-19, 25-17, 31-29, loss to Vietnam last Sunday despite the efforts of Kyla Atienza.

China, meanwhile, is 1-0 in Group A, hammering the Koreans on Day 1 as well, 25-9, 25-8, 25-9.
