Jia De Guzman lauds Creamline bench for staying ready

Creamline has yet to drop a game in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

And the Cool Smashers’ balanced attack was one of the key factors in their success in the season-ending conference of the league organized by Sports Vision.

In their recent 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 victory over Akari on Thursday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig, three players breached double figures in scoring.

Yeliz Basa had 18 points, Ced Domingo got 14, while Jema Galanza got 12 but contributions were more aplenty than that.

Eleven of the 12 players, excluding liberos Kyla Atienza and Ella De Jesus, scored at least a point in the four-set triumph.

“It took a lot of time for us to build this kind of trust between us players,” shared Jia De Guzman, who dished out 19 excellent sets against the Chargers.

Two-time Conference MVP Tots Carlos has been seeing limited minutes this import-laden tournament as she plays opposite, the same position as Basa.

But Carlos was utilized as an open hitter in the fourth set in lieu of Alyssa Valdez and delivered seven points instantly.2022-PVL-Reinforced-Conference-Akari-vs-Creamline-Tots-Carlos-Creamline Jia De Guzman lauds Creamline bench for staying ready News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

Rarely-used Rose Vargas also stepped up to the occasion in short stints, tallying four points, while Michele Gumabao who is also an opposite spiker got three points in limited play.

“Kahit na nasa bench kami, nasa loob kami, lahat kami ready to contribute at any time of the game,” said Morado, a six-time Best Setter in the PVL.

“Even si Yelo she understands that despite being an import, alam niya rin na kahit sino sa loob ng team pwedeng mag-contribute.”
