Another instrumental cog of PLDT is making her way to the Petro Gazz Angels’ fold in Jerrili Malabanan.
The former FEU standout is set to spread her wings as an Angel in the Premier Volleyball League, sources privy to the situation confirmed to Tiebreaker Times.
Malabanan, 24, will join Grethcel Soltones, who has also made a jump from PLDT to Petro Gazz.
The two are former PayMaya High Flyers who played important roles for the team’s runner-up finish in the league’s 2018 edition of the Reinforced Conference.
The hard-hitting, 5-foot-11 outside hitter was the captain of the Power Hitters in the Philippine Superliga last year. She delivered the goods on offense, backstopping the likes of Soltones and Aiko Urdas in scoring.
Malabanan’s addition to Petro Gazz provides length and depth in the wings of the Angels’ arsenal. Her lanky frame will also help improve the team’s net defense.
Given the departure of Malabanan and Soltones, as well as Jasmine Nabor, PLDT now has to deal with a series of changes and adjustments for the fast approaching PSL season.
