Jeron Teng helps out in Gilas practice

Though Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes is not guaranteeing that Jeron Teng will be fielded in the National Team’s upcoming tournaments, the two-time UAAP Finals Most Valuable Player still attended Friday afternoon’s practice to help the team tune up.

Teng, 23, seemed to have recovered from the flu that had forced him to sit out the last three sessions, as he actively participated in the team’s scrimmage headed by assistant coach Jong Uichico.

Also in attendance on Friday afternoon were Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Ferrer, Bobby Ray Parks, Jr., Kobe Paras, Jiovani Jalalon, Christian Standhardinger, Von Pessumal, Carl Cruz, Raymar Jose, Almond Vosotros, Mike Tolomia, Ed Daquioag, Mac Belo, and Baser Amer. Jones Cup reinforcement Mike Myers suited up as well.

Sitting out Friday’s session was Matthew Wright, who was having his right knee checked. Not present was Fonzo Gotladera, who was also not in attendance on Thursday night.

The daily practices that began last Tuesday are in preparation for the upcoming 2017 William Jones Cup in Taiwan and the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.
