Jeremiah Gray joins Gilas practice

Jeremiah Gray finally joined Gilas Pilipinas’ practice on Friday at Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

The 6-foot-5 swingman had a brief vacation earlier in the week before making a full commitment to join the national team for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games which opens next week.

In the last Gilas practice before the team enters Inspire Academy for a bubble camp, Gray was reunited with good pal and draft batchmate Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.

However, after a high of 15 yesterday, the number of players dwindled down to 13 on Friday.

Joining the two Filipino-American PBA players were Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger and Justin Brownlee; Meralco’s Aaron Black and Chris Newsome; San Miguel’s Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter; and Northport’s Arvin Tolentino.

Amateur standouts Jerom Lastimosa of Adamson University and brothers Ben and Mike Phillips of De La Salle University also took part in the session.

Completing the cast is practice player Sean Anthony of NLEX.

Absent was Ateneo’s Mason Amos and San Miguel’s CJ Perez.

Gilas will be slotted in Group A along with Malaysia (May 9), Cambodia (May 11), and Singapore (May 13).
