Another member of the revered Lions Nation MMA team has received the call to showcase her skills on the global stage of the sport.
Tiebreaker Times has learned from a reliable source that Jenelyn Olsim is scheduled to make her return to action at ONE Friday Fights 35 on September 29, facing Malaysia’s Jihin Radzuan in a three-round women’s atomweight bout.
Both ladies were initially set to face each other in February 2022. However, the bout was canceled when Olsim sustained a training-related injury, forcing her to withdraw from the matchup.
After over a year of waiting, Olsim and Radzuan will finally have the opportunity to compete against each other.
Furthermore, the upcoming encounter holds the potential for redemption, as both fighters are coming off disappointing defeats in their recent outings.
Olsim suffered a 24-second knockout loss at the hands of Meng Bo in a catchweight contest in December 2022.
Meanwhile, Radzuan lost to Stamp Fairtex by unanimous decision in an exciting clash in October 2022.
However, that setback still had a silver lining for Radzuan, as it led her to form an alliance with Stamp.
The Malaysian standout now trains with the former two-sport world champion at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand.
In fact, Radzuan plays a crucial role in her former opponent’s preparation for her bout against Ham Seo Hee in the headliner of ONE Fight Night 14, scheduled to take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on September 30.
On the other hand, Olsim will kickstart Lions Nation MMA’s campaign under the ONE Championship banner.
It can be recalled that this past July, the 26-year-old native of Bokod, Benguet, announced her departure from Team Lakay to join Eduard Folayang, Joshua Pacio, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario, Edward Kelly, and Jeremy Pacatiw in the newly-established camp.
ONE Friday Fights 35 is set to take place at the world-renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The aforementioned live event will be followed by ONE Fight Night 14, with Olsim’s stablemate Folayang facing Singapore’s Amir Khan in a lightweight rematch on the supporting card.
In the following week, Pacio will step inside the squared-circle to take on Russia’s Mansur Malachiev in a pivotal strawweight showdown.
