Jema Galanza suffers dislocated ankle

She will still undergo tests, but according to Virtual Playground’s general manager of volleyball operations Mark Salamat, Jema Galanza’s ankle was dislocated.

Virtual Playground is the agency that handles Galanza.

Monday evening, during the Adamson University Lady Falcons’ 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 win against the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers in the PVL Collegiate Conference, Galanza rolled her ankle in the third set, when the score was 5-0 in favor of Adamson, at a perpendicular angle to her right leg.

The fifth-year Adamsonian tallied nine markers in the contest.

Salamat clarified that doctors are still testing for ligament tears.

“The X-rays results are out and there are no signs of fracture,” he said.

However, the 20-year-old is still waiting for the swelling on her right ankle to subside before further tests can be done to see if there are any ligaments torn.

No timetable has been set for Galanza’s return.
