National University now has a one-and-done guard as it defends its 96-game winning streak in the UAAP.
The Lady Bulldogs secured the commitment of Jayda Villareal last weekend during the FilAm Nation Select Global Summit held at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California.
Lady Bulldogs’ Herson Sy and Cris Gopez were the ones who closed the commitment.
Villareal will be the second-ever one-and-done talent the Lady Bulldogs will field after Kelli Hayes during UAAP Season 82.
Villareal, who stands at 5-foot-3, spent her first four years of college in Division II school Cal Poly Pomona.
She averaged 9.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.09 assists during her senior year with the Broncos.
Villareal will be the lead guard for the Lady Bulldogs during their seven-peat bid after the graduation of Kaye Pingol and Monique del Carmen in 2019.
