Janine Pontejos snipes Cleon and Clyde, leads Taguig Lady Generals to 1st win


Janine Pontejos scored 33 points as the Taguig City Lady Generals defeated Cleon and Clyde Lady Snipers, 78-68, on Saturday in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) at the Philippine Christian University Gym in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The national team standout exploded with six triples in the contest to lead the Lady Generals to the win in the resumption of the WNBL action.

They now join the Parañaque Lady Aces on top of the team standings of the seven-team league.

Vangie Soriano had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Generals to also support Pontejos in the match.

Snow Penaranda had 24 points and 19 rebounds, while Afril Bernardino added 15 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks for the Lady Snipers.
