Jack Animam notched her 15th double-double in the 2020-21 University Basketball Alliance, powering Shih Hsin University past Fo Guang, 82-42, in the knockout semis, Saturday at Taiwan National University Gym.
Animam had 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 16 rebounds in the contest. She also scattered three steals, an assist, and a block.
Dominant were the defending champions, racing to an early 27-10 lead. It did not stop there as SHU limited their opponents to just nine points in the second stanza to gain a 47-19 lead.
It was enough to take their third win over Fo Guang this season even if the Tigers’ offense stagnated in the second half.
The win is Shih Hsin’s 18th straight for the season while Animam’s personal slate went up to 95-0.
Lin Die led SHU with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 14 boards. Chen Yuti added 10 markers.
Senior Yang Wanlin paced Fo Guang 13 points. They were limited to just a 22.2-percent shooting clip while being outrebounded 61-25.
Animam plays her final collegiate game on Sunday as the Tigers await the winner of the Chinese Culture-National Taiwan Normal game later in the day.
