Two more Immaculada Concepcion College standouts are moving to Taft Avenue.
Bluehawks forward Roger Ondoa and guard Ian Torres have transferred to College of Saint Benilde on Monday.
This comes a couple of weeks after ICC’s all-around forward Jake Gaspay moved to De La Salle University.
Blazers head coach Charles Tiu marvelled at the growth of Ondoa and Torres over the past year.
Together with Gaspay, the trio led the Bluehawks to the top of the NCRAA last month.
“I saw Ondoa last year as a raw prospective talent, but he has developed and improved so much in a year,” said Tiu.
Ondoa, 20, is a 6-foot-3 athletic forward while Torres, also 20, is a 6-foot sniper.
The two were brought to Blazers booster Frank Lao on Monday at Gloria Maris Greenhills.
“Both he and Torres were highly recommended by Anton Brodett, the head of Phenom Championship Clinic, who has been helping us recruit players. Among their clients are Maimai Cagulangan, Inand Fornillos, Jacob Lao, and Francis Lopez,” said Tiu.
For his part, Brodett is just glad that the two have found a home in Benilde.
“At Phenom, we are just about helping the kids find a home that will best develop them not just on the court but also out of it,” said Brodett.
“We are grateful that their former ICC head coach Jay Agsalud trusted Phenom and we are thankful to Boss Frank for accepting the boys.”
The two will have to sit out one year before being eligible for NCAA Season 100. They still have four years of eligibility left.
Come the centennial season of the Grand Old League, they will join the likes of former EAC General Allen Liwag, former San Beda Red Lions Justine Sanchez and Tony Ynot, former CEU Scorpion Jhomel Ancheta, and former UP Fighting Maroon Anton Eusebio.
Sanchez, Ynot, and Galman are also part of Phenom Championship Clinic.
