Seventeen players called up by Indonesia for the upcoming 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers’ third window are all present in their training camp in Jakarta.
In a report by Antara News, players coming off the recently-concluded Indonesian Basketball League Finals — which saw Satria Muda Pertamina beat Pelita Jaya in a battle of Jakarta clubs — immediately rejoined the national team.
Those are veteran internationalist Arki Wisnu, Agassi Yeshe Goantara, Vincent Rivaldi Kosasih, Govinda Julian Saputra, Andakara Prastawa Dhyaksa, Hardianus Lakudu, Juan Laurent Kokodiputra, and Kevin Sitorus.
They joined the nine players previously called up by, namely Ali Bagir, Yudha Saputera, Aldy Izzatur, Dame Diagne, Seigne Modou Kane, Muhammad Arighi, Kelvin Sanjaya, Abraham Grahita, and Widyanta Putra Teja.
Lester Prosper will serve as the naturalized player for the Rajko Toroman-mentored squad, which has been training in Jakarta since last week.
Not in the pool is Brandon Jawato, The Serbian bench tactician had earlier revealed that his prized forward won’t see action in next week’s window as he continues to recover from the surgery he underwent last April.
Timnas has itself a tough skate in the June 16-20 event in Clark, Pampanga. It faces South Korea on the 17th, and then takes on regional rivals Philippines and Thailand on the 18th and on the 20th, respectively.
The 2021 Asia Cup hosts are sitting at third in Group A with a 1-2 card. Their lone win came at the expense of Thailand, 90-76, in the last window.
