More hopefuls flock second Women’s National Volleyball Team tryout


Several star volleyball players added their name to the growing list of National Team hopefuls in the second tryout at the Arellano University Gym.

Cocolife’s Denden Lazaro; UP’s Tots Carlos; UE’s Kath Arado; Pocari Sweat’s Elaine Kasilag and Myla Pablo; and Petron’s Mika Reyes, Ces Molina, and Rhea Dimaculangan headlined the list of first-time attendees.

The Petron Blaze Spikers and Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors did not participate in the drills, as they had commitments with their clubs.

Sta. Lucia’s Becca Rivera and MJ Phillips; La Salle’s Kianna Dy, Dawn Macandili, and Majoy Baron; F2 Logistics’ Aby Maraño, Ara Galang, Lourdes Clemente, Cha Cruz, and Kim Fajardo; Generika-Ayala’s Bang Pineda; Cocolife’s Royse Tubino; and UST’s Sisi Rondina rounded out the 21 attendees as of press time.

Coach Ramil de Jesus presided over the day’s drills.

The nationals are preparing for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, and the 2018 AVC Cup for Women that will take place from September 17-23 in Thailand.
