Holy Cross-Davao’s lanky 6-6 big man Paul Turco moves to La Salle

La Salle continues to beef up for the future.

The Green Archers welcomed Holy Cross of Davao’s Paul Turco to their squad.

A team official, who requested anonymity, confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

Turco, who is a native of General Santos City, was outstanding for the Crusaders. He led the team to back-to-back appearances in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Visayas-Mindanao qualifiers.

Holy Cross was not able to participate in the 2019 edition of the tournament, though. The tournament was moved from Davao to Dumaguete due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Known as a workhorse, the product of Notre Dame of Dadiangas High School was personally recruited by head coach Derrick Pumaren and assistant coach Gabby Velasco.

Turco, who stands at 6-foot-6, is said to be a pesky big man and described asd a mini-Yutien Andrada.

He is currently serving a one-year residency in La Salle and will be eligible for Season 84.

Turco will join Kevin Quiambao, Jonnel Policarpio, and Warren Calera in the Green Archers’ huge frontline.
