Rain or Shine Head Coach, Yeng Guiao, once again blasted PBA officiating after what he felt was a wrong call, in Game 6 of the Commissioner’s Cup finals which Rain or Shine won, 101-93 Sunday.
Paul Lee attacked the basket and left Talk ‘N Text import, Ivan Johnson, a good two steps behind, before the reinforcement tried to make a last-ditch effort to block the ball, but instead hit Lee hard on the face.
Lee felt the pain and took a few seconds to recover, while his hand clung on to his face. The officials looked at the replay and ruled the foul as a regular one, immediately making Guiao embarrassed.
“What do you need to do to get a flagrant? He was two arms away from the ball. He knew he would get Paul’s face,” the irked Guiao said.
“I am just surprised. He was bumping us and walang technical.”
Guiao added Johnson wanted to chase Chris Tiu after the Elasto Painters guard tapped out of bounds a Jayson Castro pass for Johnson in a fastbreak attempt.
Johnson felt Tiu crossed his path intentionally, and rushed towards Tiu.
“Hinabol niya si Chris (Tiu). For what? He was in a fighting stance. Bakit ganoon,” Guiao shared.
“Kalokohan e. I think he is mentally unstable, but that will help us. Who do you need to do (for the referees to call a flagrant)? He has been a menace.”
“I just don’t understand.”
