Grieving June Mar on passing of mom: ‘It’s the kind of heartache I can feel in my bones’

A grieving June Mar Fajardo took to social media Sunday to pay tribute to his late mother Maritess, breaking his silence days after her passing.

The reigning six-time PBA Most Valuable Player penned a short yet emotional post via Instagram about his dear mom, who died last Wednesday.

“Nights like this will never be the same without you, Mama,” Fajardo opened his post, which has been flooded with messages of support.

“I’ve come to realize that nothing in this life prepares us for losing someone we love— NOTHING!! Sobrang sakit!! It’s the kind of heartache I can feel in my bones,” the San Miguel Beer star continued.

The 31-year-old himself is a self-confessed Mama’s Boy. He’s always known to have his parents around in games or in awarding rites whenever possible.

His mom’s last public appearance was in the 44th Leo Awards at SMART Araneta Coliseum, where Fajardo collected his sixth consecutive MVP plum.

“Mama, I miss you now and will miss you forever!” he wrote.

“I love you to infinity and beyond! Rest in peace Mama!”

The gentle giant from Cebu also expressed gratitude for everyone who has offered condolences during this difficult period.

“Thank you all for your prayers and condolences! Appreciate you all!”
