Golden Shuttlers sweep Soaring Falcons


The University of Santo Tomas Golden Shuttlers glided through an easy win against the winless Adamson University Falcons this Sunday morning at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall.

The España-based squad hastily swept the matches, starting with John Reyes as he defeated Gerleth Delizo of Adadamson in the first singles to score, 25-14, 25-23, marking the beginning of the Shuttlers’ domination of the entire game.

John Yabut also scored another match for UST after winning against Joshua Antonio, 21-19, 21-13 in the second singles.

Securing the win of the Golden Shuttlers’, the duo Reyes and Paul Pantig of dominated the first doubles, claiming the victory with the score of 21-9, 21-10.

The pair of Yabut and John Sotea was also triumphant after routing the second doubles duo of Adamson, Mart Concha and Joshua Antonio, 21-10, 23-21.

Golden Shuttler Cris Sanchez failed to finish their series with a sweep, after dropping the first set, 18-21. However, he bounced back against Concha, polishing his mistakes, and got the score of 21-15, 21-17.

On September 28, Wednesday at 8:00am in the morning, the UST will go up against FEU. While the Adamson Soaring Falcons will face current third place team in the standings, the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
