Gilas Women gears up for Manila Hustle 3×3

Gilas Pilipinas Women will be among seven local teams defending home turf at the Manila Hustle 3×3 Season 3, set to take place on February 8-9 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The national women’s 3×3 basketball team will consist of Camille Clarin, Mikka Cacho, Hazelle Yam, and Jhazmin Joson.

The Gilas squad, however, won’t be the only local team representing the country in this prestigious international invitational, co-presented by Uratex, Smart, and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).

Uratex Dream, headlined by world No. 57 Kaye Pingol and Afril Bernardino, is eyeing a breakthrough performance.

Meanwhile, last year’s runner-up, Titans, is looking for redemption with Trina Guytingco and Stefanie Berberabe leading their charge.

Army Altama will rely on Janine Pontejos and Chack Cabinbin, while other Filipino teams include New Zealand Creamery, Uratex Tibay, and Gilas Pilipinas Women U23.

The competition, however, is expected to be fierce.

Reigning champion Zoos Tokyo, led by last year’s MVP Aoi Katsura, is back to defend its crown.

They are among eight foreign teams set to challenge the local squads, all vying for the USD 4,000 top prize and a coveted spot in the WKBL 3×3 tournament in Korea.

The runner-up will take home USD 2,500, while the third placer will pocket USD 1,000. The tournament is supported by Titan as the official partner, alongside Wilson, Seiko, B’lue, Secret Fresh, BDO, Jollibee, TRYP by Wyndham, Jisulife, Rexona, and Laurin.
