Gilas Women dominate again in FIBA 3×3 NL – Asia Pacific Stop 2

Gilas Pilipinas Women continued their impressive run in the FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League 2025 – Asia-Pacific 1 Conference, capturing Stop 2 with another dominant showing.

For the second consecutive leg, the Filipinas overwhelmed Chinese-Taipei in the finals—this time securing a 20-13 victory on Friday morning (Manila time) in Doha, Qatar.

Kacey Dela Rosa once again led the charge, delivering a game-high 12 points to power Gilas to back-to-back titles in the tournament.

Cielo Pagdulagan and Kristine Cayabyab also made their mark, contributing four points each.

Li Chen-i led Chinese-Taipei with eight points in the losing effort.

Gilas breezed through the group stage with commanding wins, routing Singapore, 18-9, and host nation Qatar, 21-4.

Dela Rosa tallied a combined 11 points across those two games, continuing her strong play from the first stop.

Against Qatar, Cayabyab added seven points, Pagdulagan chipped in six, and Cheska Apag contributed five to the blowout victory.

Meanwhile, the Gilas Men’s team settled for another third-place finish, further denting their chances of qualifying for the FIBA 3×3 Under-23 World Cup later this year in China.

The men dropped a close one to Qatar, 21-19, before salvaging a win over Indonesia, 19-11.

Nic Cabanero showed consistency, scoring nine points in both outings.

Aldous Torculas suited up in place of Anton Eusebio for this leg.

Looking ahead to Stop 3 later tonight, Gilas Women are grouped with New Zealand and Indonesia, while the men’s squad will face New Zealand and Singapore in their bracket.
