Gilas Pilipinas Women assured the Philippines of a top-two finish in the 20th Asian Games 3×3 competition after defeating Thailand, 13-8, in the semifinals on Friday at Kinjo Futo Station Square.
The Philippines will face host Japan, which edged China, 17-16, in the other semifinal, in the gold medal match on Friday evening.
It was a dominant semifinal outing for the Filipinas, who raced to a 12-4 lead before putting away the Thais.
Victoria Pasilang led Gilas with five points and seven rebounds, while Kacey Dela Rosa and Kennan Ka added four and three points, respectively.
Amyah Espanol chipped in one point.
Gilas advanced to the semifinals after defeating Singapore, 22-12, in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Thailand, which defeated Iran, 12-11, in the quarterfinals, was led by the seven combined points of Kwanjira Panted and Palida Naumkong.
