Gilas Pilipinas will be playing just two games when it heads to Manama, Bahrain for the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
The Philippines takes on regional rival Thailand on November 27 and 30. The former was a postponed game that was supposed to take place last February 20 in Manila.
South Korea, whom Gilas would have faced on the 28th, has formally backed out as well, citing health and safety concerns.
On the other hand, the proposed game between Gilas and Indonesia on the 29th has been scrapped. This will again take place in the February window.
Gilas has played just one game in Pool A, a 100-70 win over Indonesia, who will play just one game in Bahrain — versus Thailand on November 28.
Thailand lost to Korea, 86-93, during the first window.
Gilas’ pool will consist of Isaac Go, the Nieto twins, Rey Suerte, Jaydee Tungcab, the Gomez de Liaño brothers, Dwight Ramos, Kobe Paras, Justine Baltazar, Dave Ildefonso, Angelo Kouame, William Navarro, Calvin Oftana, and Kemark Carino.
Kouame’s naturalization is still being processed.
