Gilas Pilipinas will bring just 10 players to Korea for their two-game friendly series.
Besides Ange Kouame, Dave Ildefonso has been declared out for the exhibition games set to take place from June 17 and 18 at Anyang Gymnasium in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
The 6-foot winger is nursing an ankle injury, according to the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
Kouame, meanwhile, has been diagnosed with a meniscal sprain and a partial ACL tear.
The federation is optimistic that Ildefonso can still make it to the third window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Gilas will face the Tall Blacks on the road (June 30) and India at home on July 3.
For the friendlies, Gilas will only bring in Kiefer Ravena, Dwight Ramos, William Navarro, Carl Tamayo, SJ Belangel, RJ Abarrientos, Geo Chiu, Lebron Lopez, Rhenz Abando, and Kevin Quiambao.
The SBP assured that they are exhausting all options, including looking for a replacement and securing a New Zealand Visa for the game on June 30.
