Gilas Pilipinas begin prep for FIBA ACQ

Nineteen players were in attendance as Gilas Pilipinas started its preparations for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers, Thursday afternoon at the Moro Lorenzo Gym in Katipunan, Quezon City.

Isaac Go, Allyn Bulanadi, Matt and Mike Nieto, and Rey Suerte led the session overseen by coach Mark Dickel, program director Tab Baldwin, Topex Robinson, and Sandy Arespacochaga.

Joining them are Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Gomez De Liaño brothers Juan and Javi, Dave Ildefonso, Jaydee Tungcab, Dwight Ramos, CJ Perez, Troy Rosario, and Roger Pogoy.

Gilas icon Marc Pingris — who returns to the program after three years — as well as Christian Standhardinger, Poy Erram, and Kobe Paras are present but were all clad in street clothes.

Not in attendance were Ray Parks, Mac Belo, Matthew Wright, Japeth Aguilar, and Justine Baltazar.

Gilas is preparing for the Asia Cup Qualifiers’ first window set this February. The Nationals will play Thailand at home on the 20th, before facing Indonesia on the road on the 23rd.
