General injures right elbow in FEU loss

The National University Lady Bulldogs had been trying to keep themselves alive against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in the fourth set when their main libero Bia General suffered a crucial injury.

General was diving to save a ball when her teammate, Jasmine Nabor, careened her way and landed on her right arm.

The Lady Bulldogs wound up winning the set but surrendered in the fifth frame, leaving NU with a 5-6 record.

“Right elbow sprain daw po,” General said after the match. “Nahirapan po talaga ako igalaw. Papatignan pa po namin bukas (Friday) kung may additional pang injury.”

Although it’s still not clear whether General will miss any of National U’s future matches, General stressed that her injury did not affect the outcome of NU’s loss to FEU.

“Magaling din naman po ‘yung pumalit sa akin (Gayle Valdez). Talagang kinulang lang po talaga kami noong dulo.”

The National University take on the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons on March 30 at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
