It looks like the NBA G League is recruiting more top high school prospects in the wake of Jalen Green’s signing.
According to multiple reports, Kai Sotto is one of the high school prospects linked to the developmental league’s select contract program.
If the 7-foot-1, 17-year-old goes to the NBA’s minor league, he will most likely join Green in the league’s new franchise that will be based in Los Angeles, California — a franchise that will have no affiliation with any NBA club.
Moreover, Sotto will receive a six-figure contract and a program that will focus on on-court and life skills development.
Players who enter the select program will have to play 20 games before being eligible to enter the NBA Draft.
Sotto, the top under-17 center in Asia, is ranked as a four-star recruit. He is currently playing for Atlanta-based squad The Skills Factory Prep School.
Sotto has made visits to University of Kentucky, Georgia Tech, DePaul, and University of Auburn.
